Motor City Rocks

electricsix Electric Six detroit concerts Throw in some metal, disco, punk, garage, humorous lyrics and lead singer know as Dick Valentine and you would have a fairly good idea of what Electric Six is all about. Formerly known as The Wildbunch, the band crosses all musical styles and genres to create a unique sound that has been dubbed “disco punk.”

After a legal dispute with a D.J. of the same name, The Wildbunch regrouped as Electric Six in 2001. Released that same year, the infectious single “Danger High Voltage” was the first recording under the name Electric Six. They also re-recorded the song with Jack White of the White Stripes on backing vocals in 2003. The song went on to be a hit in the U.K. reaching at #2 on the charts. Electric Six’s first, the full-length album, entitled Fire Electric Six detroit concerts , hit stores on May 20, 2003.

Since then the Electric Six has had numerous lineup changes (but have always maintained their leader Dick Valentine), tons of music videos, played several festivals including Lollapalooza and Coachella, and has released four additional full-length LP’s, many of which become available in the month of October year after year. Sources have not confirmed if the Electric Six’s album release schedule is intentional or just a sign of the forthcoming apocalypse.
