- Ryan Allen has been in every single Detroit area band from the depression era to the present. He’s also had thousands of his own side projects during that time, though it’s hard to say which of them is the real band and which the side project, because he’s been in all of them. You know that idea for a bare bones Grunge project with a Zydeco twist you’ve been knocking around? He’s going to be in [...]

Red China sounds mostly like taking mushrooms[...]

Natatsha and Kevin, Detroit’s power couple, will be spending their birthday getting nasty with you at the Corkt[...]

The Welcome, a quartet releasing a slew of concept EPs this year, has successfully depicted these classic childhood moments with their newest motion – hopscotch (which can be downloaded for free on their bandcamp page.)

If it’s true that the free wheeling 90’s are back, Six Sweet Lips - evoking Grandaddy, The Breeders, The Rentals and The Postal Service, among others - isn’t going to have any problem finding an audience.
There’s no point where the album can be accused of rushing it. Six Sweet Lips is a methodically-paced album. Like David Bowie’s (version of) "China Girl," the song is always a bit more pac[...]
