Traits - Out Of My Mind Traits sent me their self-titled release for an early listen and was kind enough to allow us to premiere a new song here. I've been listening to the album quite a bit this past week and have to say the standout track is "Out Of My Mind" (which also happens to be the longest track on the album). Most of the tracks are concise and tightly written, but this one sprawls a bit a[...]
Alan Sowinski made perhaps his most pronounced splash with Maybe Texas--a sort of reboot of his previous band Aisle 5. Maybe Texas were fucking great and played over the course of several years, opening for Sponge before succumbing to the same forces that plague all the great bands. Here's the band playing at Lager House for St. Patty's Day:

Michigan has 2 seasons: too hot and too cold (also known as SO COLD). And boring people only talk about the weather, so it is with great pleasure that I pronounce it summer. YES and this is your (first) summer jam!
Cayucas pronounced "zRfE-444" is the project of Zach Yudin, a Californian who has spent the last few years working at an independent jazz label ?! I[...]
Just as the title implies, the Mexican Knives stole my toaster--and they are refusing to give it back. This has seriously gone on long enough.
Not that their refusal has been outright.
First, they were like: "Oh sorry, it was a mistake...it just got mixed in with some of our stuff--we'll bring it back." But for nearly 3 weeks I heard jack-shit. Then, I sent this really nice text message jus[...]
On the edges of some distant galaxy lives Dwarf Nebula, a hip-hop artist born of anxiety. As the press release explains, he collided with All These Fingers to create some epic remixes of 5 songs from Dwarf Nebula's I Feel Big As A Damn Mountain. While the tracks still maintain their relative edge, All These Fingers brings the lounge-y, cool suave that has dominated his other releases. So dig on t[...]
For this particular Woodman offshoot it seemed appropriate to mimic the adjective filled review style fond to a slew of music writers. Here goes:
"Art punk and drum machine spill out in an ethereal, diffuse glow that recalls being fingered for the first time."
Tone and Niche recognize that a new Bandcamp page is like a leap-year birthday...the shit don't happen often so you better celebrate it: multiple cakes, pinatas, and free downloads. So, not only can you download the band's 2009 live album for free but Tone will also personally deliver a pinata and chocolate cake to your home. The live album is split between an electric set recorded at Cadieux Cafe[...]
Brian is putting some kind of crazy, multi-state, gypsy-circus tour together for 2013. Hang onto your dick! On his latest EP, Sweet & Sour, he's using a...what's it called? It has like six strings. Wood. You can form chords on it? Anyhow, he uses one of those things and then he...wait, what's the word I'm looking for? It's like that thing where you're kind of like talking but you're sort of dr[...]
Listen to some solo stuff from that kid that's in Lightning Love and Starling Electric. It's a free download but you can also throw some cash down if you're cool.
