mcr profile
With their flowing melodies, pensive lyrics and catchy hooks, Pas/Cal
has quickly gained popularity in Detroit. Clad in
their swanky vintage attire, the band is led by its founder and
songwriter
Casimer Pascal. Pascal's voice has a cheerful, sweet tone
slightly
reminiscent of Francis Healy (Travis). In fact, Pas/Cal
sounds more like a band out of Manchester, England than Detroit, Mich.
Their melodic songs, full of catchy pop hooks, provide a
refreshing
flavor to the edgy Detroit scene. The band's six-song debut EP, Handbag
Memoirs, was released in 2003 on the Le Grand Magistery
label. --Ryan Sult
