I never thought it would happen to me. It seemed like the whole thing happened so fast, but My Bloody Valentine–who have been mostly silent since 1991–are getting a tour together and have a new album, m b v. The whole thing is pretty sweet. Songs like ‘Only Tomorrow’ waiver in the distorted drone you’d expect from the band. ‘New You’–a song the band debuted at a show last month in England–has a mellow groove that rests just beneath Bilinda Butcher’s soothing tones.
