Motor City Rocks

The concept for this video isn’t too radical–it’s the band playing the song with some video-effects over top–but the song, ‘High School Lover’, works. According to the press release, you should hear some “California Roots” to the song. This is code for “sounds like a Beck B-side”. Not to rag on Cayucas or to suggest their sound is a bad thing. They’re getting some good nods–airplay on SiriusXMU and a soon to be released album, Bigfoot, on Secretly Canadian. Certainly Cayucas is no Phantom Cats but ‘High School Lover’ has enough edge and hook to make it wail.
