Meijer Facebook Post Sparks Heated Exchange

Always known for their decisive posts, Meijer sparked even more controversy today when they posted about their Alaska Sockeye Salmon Filets.  The filets are perfect for grilling, broiling, or sauteing and are only $7.99 a pound.

Soon after posting, an avalanche of ‘likes’ appeared.

“It was probably the most liked post we’ve ever had,” said a Meijer spokesman who wished to remain anonymous, “It seemed so positive and then shit just got crazy.”

As you can see in the screenshot below, the tense Internet stand off began when one user referred to the filets as “GODFLESH”–clearly invoking some kind of satanic ritual. Things progressed when another user declared “to hot be cooking” before someone shot back with “Grillin time!!” By the end of it all, demands for crock pot recipes were made.

“That was the one that really pissed me off. I mean, fuck that bitch–what, we have endless time to just find crock pot recipes? These filets have a distinctive, rich flavor and firm texture. That should be enough,” explained the spokesman.

The debacle is expected to continue into the early evening hours with debate now shifting to whether the filets should be grilled with charcoal or propane.
