Top 5 w/ Bob Harrington
Welcome to Top 5. The segment where one of the local luminaries shares the Top 5 Records that are in their ears currently. Simple and easy. This week’s contributor is Bob Harrington from the band Me & The Ghost. You can catch them live this Friday at The Berkley Front. Without further ado, here are Bob’s picks….
1) Big Star, Radio City
This one’s in permanent rotation for me. “September Gurls” is one of my favorite songs. It’s a perfect record and a huge influence.
2) Jack White, Blunderbuss
Just caught Jack White when he came to the Masonic Temple in support of Blunderbuss. Him and his band played a bunch of White Stripes numbers but the songs were walking in a new pair of boots. Great performance, great record.
3) R. Stevie Moore, Delicate Tension
I got the chance to see R. Stevie Moore at The Loving Touch recently. He’s an oldie but goodie.
4) Alice Cooper, Billion Dollar Babies
I’ve been doing a couple things to get ready to go to Bonnaroo. Listening to Billion Dollar Babies to prepare for a classic Coop set is one of them. I love “I Love The Dead.”
5) Slade, The Story Of Slade
My old roommate Scott Sanford of Pewter Cub and my bandmate Charlie McCutcheon got me into Slade. Me & the ghost is going to cover Slade… maybe “Nobody’s Fool” or “Far Far Away.” Hopefully Charlie will sing them ‘cos he does a mean Noddy Holder.
