The Whiskey Rebellion at Cadieux Cafe w/ Duende, The Mantons, Mariah Dallas & A Few Unfaithfuls
Sure Cadieux Cafe is a hike, but the weathermen lied about this snow shit anyways. Here’s the lingo taken from the Facebook Event Page:
“The Whiskey Rebellion, or Whiskey Insurrection, was a tax protest in the United States in 1789, during the presidency of George Washington. Farmers who sold their corn in the form of whiskey had to pay a new tax which they strongly resented. The tax was a part of treasury secretary Alexander Hamilton’s program to pay off the national debt.”
Things really don’t change do they? Luckily in our times of modern duress there are venues and musicians dedicated to keeping the public secure and satiated with song and spirits as we live through our own WHISKEY REBELLION.
The evenings entertainment will begin at 9:30PM with Mariah Dallas, Jason Promo and Pat Martin which is most of Heartbreak Dallas & The Unfaithfuls with a stripped down acoustic set.
Next up Detroit’s working class heroes The Mantons which as front man Mike Anton says will show you how to live the life of a clown.
Drawing the curtains on the evening and hopefully not igniting them will be DUENDE! who will have tales of their travels and perhaps a few new sonic artifacts to offer.”
