Saturday night: Thornbills release 7″, the world is happy

Written by Steve Barman. Posted in Detroit Concerts

Last year, the first Motor City Rocks show that I organized brought you the Thornbills at the Lager House (with Sheefy McFly and Marco Polio). It was the Thornbills first “real” gig (Plymouth doesn’t count as a city in my eyes). Not that I take credit; I bumped into them at a party and they said they were looking for gigs.

BUT NOW they’re fucking big shots. Signed to Jack White’s Third Man Records, getting a god-sized write up by Jeff Milo! Fuck! You’d have to be a slack jawed yokel to miss this concert! Oh, and they’re an even better group than they were a year ago!

Thornbills record release with Dan Kroha and Andru Bernis. Saturday, January 8th at the Lager House. $5
