Black Lodge Vs. Marco Polio

Detroit’s own phenomenological rock haze Black Lodge is playing tonight at PJ’s Lager House with Leopold and His Fiction, and Hallway.

If you haven’t heard yet, Marco Polio has been in a month long feud with Black Lodge. An argument broke out between Black Lodge singer Kyle McBee and Marco Polio singer Steven Puwalski about “the relevance of the Hegelian dialectic in a post-Freudian society”, there was also a lot of yelling about Kierkegaard. Rumor has it there was a glass bottle fight between the bands. Also, Steve Gamburd was at the Marco Polio Trumbleplex last week, sending them “bad vibes”. Steven Puwalski has sworn to disrupt the Lodge’s Lager House show by “any means necessary”. He says the bands are now “sworn frenemies”. I’m interested in seeing how far they can escalate this before they play their “Marco Polio vs Black Lodge” show at the Magic Stick May 21st.
