On stage and in the studio, Jon Spencer, has destroyed and rebuilt American roots music with such ferocity and wild abandon it is hard to believe that there is anything left. The trail of musical destruction in the wake of his groovy hate-fuck combo Pussy Galore still smolders with the stench of avant punk trash and nasty garage ooze and grind, while his towering work with The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion remains an indelible totem to his enormous mojo spirit and red-hot power of deliverance. He is Daddy Boss Hog! He is the Blues Exploder and Microphone Destroyer! A Gibson Brother! The man who shared a Chicken Dog with Rufus Thomas, got Soul with R.L. Burnside, and enjoyed a greasy Lap Dance with Andre Williams! He is The Man Who Loved too Much!!! Now, with his pal Matt Verta-Ray, he has become the Heavy Trash, and is inviting you to a Midnight Soul Serenade.*

The above description is straight from Heavy Trash’s myspace, but I don’t think a more accurate description of Jon Spencer, one-half of Heavy Trash, could be written. As for the other spectacular half, head over to Deep Cutz to hear it from Matt Verta-Ray’s mouth.

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!

Psyche-Goth-Rock band DUENDE! will offer direct support. Vert-Ray produced Duende’s last record at his N.Y.HED studios this past winter.

Satori Circus will perform and Chantal Dixon will dance with sword and snake.

Steve Barman (formerly of The Steve Barman Show), will be hosting the night on behalf of Motor City Rocks. After the show we will record a LIVE interview segment featuring Heavy Trash gathering questions from the audience!!!!

Dan Kroha (of the Gories) will DJ!!!!

Heavy Trash's debut is the only record I've ever bought just because of the cover art.
