Stooges Reunite With Guitarist James Williamson
It’s been nine hard months since the passing of legendary guitarist Ron Asheton, but his brother Scott and fellow bandmates have decided to keep the music alive. Rolling Stone reports that The Stooges has recenty reunited with guitarist James Williamson; who replaced Asheton on lead in the early 70s, and will be performing their masterpiece Raw Power in full next May at the All Tomorrows Party festival in London.
“We’re rehearsing songs from Raw Power, Stooges, Fun House and Kill City.” The Stooges — who toured with original guitar Ron Asheton until his death in January — hadn’t played most of the later-day material in decades. “We had to really work at the nuances of the songs,” Williamson says. “By the end we were sounding pretty great.” [read more]
