Detroit Comerica Park July 2009 800x450 Concert Review: Kid Rock @ Comerica Park detroit concerts Kid Rock performed his second show in as many nights to a packed Detroit crowed at Comerica Park on Saturday evening.  Honoring his hometown area (just yards away form the Filmore Detroit where he played his pivotal career show back in the mid 1990′s) Kid Rock performed a new, not yet released song titled “In Times Like These” as a sort of love letter to the working-class Detroit faithful.

Other highlights included a cover of the Motown legends the Jackson Five’s “ABC”; in honor of the late Micheal Jackson, along with the rousing main set closing number of the Kid Rock classic “Bawitdaba”.  Kid Rock closed out his encore with another working class anthem, Bruce Spingsteen’s “Born In The U.S.A.” which had the crowd on their feet.

Speaking of “American Bad Ass”, there was plenty of the new Kid Rock themed Michigan Brewing Company’s Bas Ass Beer as well as the new Red Stage Jim Beam Bourbon flowing in every one’s cup as they sang along to hits ”Cowboy”, “Son of Detroit”; and set opener “Rock N Roll Jesus”.  You can find the complete set list form the show here.
