Save The Halfass In Ann Arbor (University of Michigan)

halfass Save The Halfass In Ann Arbor (University of Michigan) detroit concerts Shutting down “rowdy frat houses,” busting kegs at tailgates and ticketing underage drinkers; Michigan University’s have been trying to curb binge drinking for decades now (I know from first hand experience that Michigan State University has been working tirelessly at this.)  So this is why it comes as a unbelievable surprise that the University of Michigan Dining Services would be on the verge of shutting down such an important, non-alcoholic establishment as the Halfass on the Ann Arbor campus’ East Quad.  For decades this venue has given students a drug free, safe environment to have fun and enjoy live music and art, while also learning “real world” business skills on how to operate The East Quad Music Co-Op (which is responsible for booking and promoting the shows.)  Every person involved with this decision at the University of Michigan should have their head examined…

Anyone who would like to read more about the situation and/or sign the petition to keep the Halfass (or “EQMC“) open can go here: http://www.petitiononline.com/SaveEQMC/

    -Where’s the fun in that?

-I’ll sign the petition though. Good cause, but then what the hell do I know?

This is really sad and a bone-headed decision. Hope you guys will report back once there is (if there is) some kind of resolution of this issue.
