Blowout Diamond In The Rough: Fidrych

If you were reading this site about four years back (look in the archives on the left hand side) you’d find MCR’s “founding fathers” of Gary, Matt and Ryan Sult posting often about an amazing local alt. country rock outfit known as Porchsleeper (download their steller 2008 album for free here.)  So it’s with great MCR fanfare to learn that Brian Raleigh and Steve Bekkala of Porchsleeper have recently teamed up with Jason Bowe, Jeremy Porter of the The OffRamps to form a brand new band known as Fidrych (this very well could end up being Detroit’s version of Uncle Tupelo.)  Check out their Hamtramck Blowout premier tonight at 8:40 at renamed Bar Carbon (which is on the north side of Caniff on Joseph Campau) and catch what might end up being one of the “must-see” performances of the 2009 Blowout.
