The Displays are not a new band.

Good point, but Kid Rock was not a “new artist” in 1999, but he still was nominated for the Grammy. It’s all relative. Technically neither is Silverghost. We looked at it as the category for “newer” artists, unlike say the Dirtbombs, who have been around forever. Unfortunately, Best Newer Band doesn’t sound as nice.

Even so, the Displays have been around prominently for years. They are in no way a new band, even by the logic you give.

Kommie Kilpatrick is a million times better of a name then “The Displays”. Heh heh. Seriously though, a sincere thanks for the nom in the Best Dressed category. I read the categories before the nominees, and thought to myself “If we could be nominated in any of these….” Well, that and Best Venue.

There is no limit to how many times you can vote. Bands go ahead and get your fans out and let’s see who can make the list.
