I’d post some photos from The Von Bondies‘ record-breaking Halloween show, but I left my camera in my car, and anyway the gal at The Mudlot has a better camera than me. If you didn’t go, you missed out on a new “Pale Bride” single on pretty translucent yellow vinyl, a song just as hit-worthy as “C’mon C’mon”. At the end of their set the band bemoaned their suffering at the hands of their previous label for not being “emo enough”. Let’s hope Majordomo handles them better, because from the sound of Friday’s show the new Von Bondies are ready to pick up where they left off.

Im glad the crofoot had a good turnout. I think every venue had a good turnout (from what I’ve heard so far) we definitely did. I’ve also found myself going to the mudlot more and more for cool pictures of shit. On a sour note, I’m fucking sick of the Von Bondies. Who bitches about label problems in the middle of a set? Kids aren’t there to hear news about your band’s business. They’re there to dance to your band’s music. I also heard The Von Bondies fucked up the schedule of the night. For a band that had one “hit” single that luckily became the theme of a shitty fx show, they sure have big egos…..almost as big as mine. Perhaps they should’ve moved to Nashville instead of The White Stripes.

I think the real draw of that Crofoot show was the Smiths, T Rex, Nirvana, etc. set in the Pike Room. That would have got my dollar X 5 over the Von Blandies. On that note, I am moving to Nashville.
