Cityfest headliner and Detroit native, George Clinton will release his new album George Clinton and Some Gangsters of Love on September 16th. The album features a merry band of all-star guest which includes the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Carlos Santana, Sly Stone, RZA, System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian, El DeBarge and gospel singer Kim Burrell.
Kid Rock added a forth show at DTE on July 25th – what’s the chance of Rock adding a fifth show, I say the odds are 50/50.
This weekend, Detroit legends Bootsey X & Lovemasters are scheduled to play live with the Noir Leather Girls in the back of a flatbed truck on July 4th at the Clawson parade. Only in America!
Come on now, is Dabrye really the best new artist from Michigan? Obviously they never heard of this guy.
In none music related news, Detroit has seen it’s first casualty due to the pending actors strike. What crappy luck we have; we finally get our act together and due something to diversify our economy and we go ahead and pick the year that no one in Hollywood can get along.
