So apparently things got pretty crazy at the CAID on Friday night. And by crazy I mean a SWAT team raid of the place. Head over to Webvomit, Five Three Dialtone & The Metro Times Music Blahg for some accounts of what allegedly went down.
Rolling Stone talks with The Raconteurs about the new record and tour, oh and how Detroit “Detroit had become like an iron-maiden sort of torture device”. The Raconteurs will be in town this Saturday and Sunday at the Fillmore. By the way, anyone have any main floor tickets for the show on Sunday they are looking to unload? Also in the newest issue of Rolling Stone, The White Stripes, 7 Nation Army came in at #21 on the “100 Greatest Guitar Songs” list.
The schedule for Detroit River Days is out and it includes local bands such as The Hard Lessons. Hotness, Universal Temple of Divine Power, The Candy Band and more.
Troy Gregory and The Stepsisters along with Serenity Court will be playing at the Belmont tonight.
At a recent Dirtbombs show in Philly, Ben Blackwell did his best Spiderman act.

I really wish Jack would take the time to differentiate between the people in the Detroit music community that he feels have wronged him and the thousands of fans that have supported him.
He sold out a lot of shows in venues bigger than he could play elsewhere, I’m sure if you indexed the number of records he’s sold in Detroit to those of other markets, Detroit would be responsible for a far more per capita sales than elsewhere.
In other words, it kind of sucks when you shell out $28 bucks for 180 gram records and $40 for a show ticket to be referenced as stifling.
I don’t care where you live, most of us would live somewhere else too if we could — but stop bashing everybody who lives here as the second bullet point on your pr company’s boiler plate.
