So You Think You Can Spell?
Freer is going to be playing on the Fox 2 morning show tomorrow morning (Thursday) sometime between 8:30am & 9am. Also rumoured to making an appearance an the show will be the legendary Johnny Loftus, who I assume will be talking about Detour and the launch party that takes places this weekend. However it would be much better if he would do the traffic and weather updates every ten minutes.
Tonight at the Lager House catch Carjack and Bob Log III. If you don’t know who Bob Log III is, he wears a space helmet that he sings through, enough said.
This Friday night at the Belmont there is going to be a spelling bee. No that isn’t a new band, the bar is having an actual spelling bee. Registration is $5 and starts at 9pm. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers will win cash and prizes. I don’t know if it’s rock and roll themed or not but Stratocaster, cocaine, Ivan Suvanjieff & Lynyrd Skynyrd are harder to spell than you think.
This is the last week you can vote for the Metro Times “Best of Detroit”. MCR has won best local music site a couple times but we are still waiting for that “Best Of” sign that we always see around town. Anyways you should vote for us again even though MCR has become sort of half-assed. Also feel free to vote for Webvomit for “Best Pop Culture Blog” or “Best Local Website”. I think Jasper also fits into the “Best local figure to fantasize about – male” category.
