Michigan Musical Family Photo

So, word’s been out about this for a bit, but I suppose it wouldn’t kill us to mention it as well (read that as: man, we sorta missed the boat on this one). Some rad folks are attempting to pull Michigan musicians together for a ‘Music Family’ photo shoot on February 22nd … Check out Just Haircuts and Jackets for more info, or check out Canada’s MySpace page (the band, not the country).

hniaftlake Michigan Musical Family Photo detroit concerts Former Michigander and MCR buddy Brandon Z. sent along his declaration of how cool it is that His Name is Alive will be playing the Blowout, and I, Mr. Gary, do concur. On top of that, the band’s got a few other gigs coming up and a new HNiA album’s in the can as well. Check out the His Name is Alive MySpace page for more details. Just typing this out makes me want to dig out my old cassette copy of Ft. Lake and daze out with a Walkman for a while. In other news, I, Mr. Gary, have just realized that I’m a putz for having worked directly with a former vocalist for HNiA for something like TWO YEARS, and I just realized it today, some 17 months after leaving that particular job. Mr. Gary = Tool.

Also, we’d like to draw attention to the East Quad Music Co-Op, a student run non-profit organization that hosts shows in Ann Arbor at a venue called The Halfass (part of the basement of the East Quad dormitory). Get more information about the organization and its upcoming shows here.

Goddamn, does EVERYONE have a fookin’ MySpace these days?
