The Freep talks with Emily Schaller of the band Hellen who is also the organizer of the “Just Let Me Breathe” cystic fibrosis benefit show. This Saturday at the Royal Oak Music Theatre the Let’s Rock FC Foundation will be having thier annual fundraising show. Bands on the bill include South Normal, Hellen, Grande Nationals, Alex Winston and Stolen Liberty.
Xhedos Cafe in Ferndale needs to raise $10,000 to help keep the place open and this weekend you can help them out. Xhedos will be having a fundraiser featuring about 50 local musicians all playing 30 minute sets from 6pm to midnight. Suggested donation is $10.Bands include Troy Gregory and the Stepsisters, Eugene Strobe,Ben Cyllus, THTX and Jill Jack just to name a few.

At the Magic Bag, 60 Second Crush will be having a cd release party, opening the show will be Chapstik, Prime Ministers and Slave to the Beautiful.The Magic Stick plays host to Do Make Say Think. Over at the Belmont is the Original Johnny Cash Birthday Bash with The Pantones, Scotty Karate & Scott Bonnet, DJ Jason Osborne and more. Out in Ann Arbor at the Blind Pig will be Saturday Looks Good to Me, Starling Electric and Chris Bathgate.
Saturday at Bohemian National Home catch Scarlet Oaks, I Crime and Zoos of Berlin. Over at the Lager House check out The Salt Miners,Flatfoot and Battling Siki,
On Sunday American Mars will be at Cliff Bells along with Sunshine Doray.
