A sneak preview of It Came From Detroit (“The Documentary that Takes You Beyond the Garage”) will be shown at the Detroit Film Theater at the Detroit Institute of Arts on Friday, October 27 at 8pm. There will also be live performances from The Witches and Outrageous Cherry. We’re pretty excited about this film which has been in production for a few years now. You can get tickets through the DIA website. Thanks to Liz for the heads up.

Here’s a cool new local music blog for you to check out: Just Haricuts and Jackets.

A good friend of MCR, CJ Benninger, is throwing an art opening at Octane Gallery (Ferndale) on Friday, September 29. “Continuing with their commitment to local artists and the cultural community, Octane Photographic will showcase “Track Rabbits”: an exhibit featuring paintings from three incredible Detroit based Illustrators: Mark Heggie, Serge Gay Jr. and Nathan Lee Marcy.” We’re pretty into Serge Gay Jr.’s painting at the left.
