Steve and Sabrina Black are former co-workers of mine so I wanted to pass this along about the benefit show going on tonight for Sabrina. Head out there if can, it’s for a great cause.
Sabrina Black Benefit 2006
101 WRIF announces The 2006 “Sabrina Black Benefit” at the Emerald Ballroom, located in downtown Mount Clemens on Thursday, February 16.
Sabrina, the wife of WRIF’s weekend jock, Steve Black, was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2000 and has undergone numerous chemotherapy and radiation treatments as well as two bone marrow transplants. Despite all the treatments, the cancer has moved and expanded throughout the years. Due to these extensive treatments, Sabrina has also had to deal with heart failure, ammo, low blood pressure and graft versus host disease. The couple continues to remain hopeful, as Sabrina has overcome several seemingly insurmountable obstacles throughout the ordeal.
Headlining the event is The Flask, featuring Kenny Olsen — a former guitarist for Kid Rock. In addition, the night will feature live music from Dave Edwards & The Look, The Brian Schram Band, Ray Street Park, Paper Street Saints and Dirty Americans. Doors will open at 7pm.
Admission will be $10 at the door. There will also be a silent auction and a raffle, featuring autographed rock memorabilia from Ted Nugent, Disturbed, The Deftones, Three Doors Down and more. In addition, sports memorabilia will be available for auction from the Pistons, Red Wings, Tigers and The Lions. All proceeds from the night will go to the Sabrina Black Fund.
