SEVEN O’CLOCK DETROIT MUSIC NEWS
MCR is glad to inform you that the one year anniversary bash for ever popular sleazy synth shakedown Les Infants Terrible has been rescheduled to April 16 at the newly refurbished Corktown Tavern. You may recall that the Tavern had a run-in with fire about a month back. We’re told there will also be a pre-party reception at Pure Detroit Design Lab which will delight all the senses with cupcakes, shots of espresso mixed with sambuca, cute art school girls (and one that carries a gun) DJing, clothes and various freebies (buttons, mix cds, etc).

Audra Kubat is set to release her next full-length album April 19 (not August as original typo read!) on Times Beach Records. Having had a sneak preview at the MCR office, we think you’ll be wise to rush out and grab it. It’s a much darker and more personal album with outstanding production from Eric Hoegemeyer.

Kubat’s manager, Stirling, has just signed young singer-songwriter Molly Jean who created quite a buzz among those present for Stirling’s B-Day bash at Jacoby’s back in December. If you want to see what the fuss is about, you can catch her next Saturday night at Jacoby’s for the WDET Benefit showcases. She will also play the Motorcityrocks.com Showcase at the Motor City Music Conference…

…which brings us to our next item. Motorcityrocks.com will host three nights of showcases as part of the Motor City Music Conference (MC2). To be held at Jacoby’s, we will be picking several of our favorite up & coming and bands in Detroit and slightly beyond. Already slated for the bill are The Javelins, The Questions, Lansing’s The Fuzz and Great Lakes Myth Society. In addition, The Sultan himself will be hosting a panel on “Music & the Internet” along with some of your favorite online personalities like Uncle Grambo and Rob Theakston. Plus, on the scene to clue you in on exactly what happens at All Music Guide (I bet you think it’s just a website, huh?) will be Zac Johnson. We’ll have more details on MCR @ MC2 as they unfold. Stay tuned for the weather on the :10′s.
