Buzz: Lee Marvin computer Arm

January 30, 2005 by Senor Garo in Detroit Concerts with 0 Comments

Despite having seen part of Lee Marvin Computer Arm’s blowaway performance at last summer’s D*Pollen festival, it took MCR until about two weeks ago to actually get off our collective ass and schmooze a copy of the band’s self-titled five-song EP … and that was a big mistake on MCR’s part, indeed. The band comes off strong on all fronts, from the sinster, gravely-vocaled, handclap-and-cowbell fueled churn of “First Things Fucking Last” to the trumpet addled, thrash-dance beat of “Cha-Cha.” For all the greatness of the nasty rock songs, though, the most hip track just might be “No Way,” which combines the yelling and trumpet blowing with catchy guitar riffs and handclaps to create a great ‘pogo’ anthem for 2005. Any self-respecting Detroit music fan simply must have Lee Marvin Computer Arm on his or her “Bands to Catch Live in 2005″ list.
