Homeward Bound: Gary Grimshaw
Motorcityrocks.com can reveal that legendary rock artist Gary Grimshaw is saying so long to is home in California and heading back to the Motor City. Grimshaw’s Detroit rock roots date back to the Grande Ballroom days where he was the primary poster and light show artist. He also created art for the MC5 during this period – including the Kick Out The Jams album cover, currently on display at the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. He was also the associate art director at Creem magazine for eight years and created the album cover for Iggy Pop’s 1987 album Instinct. His latest is the killer Detroit Cobras poster shown at right.
