A big congrats to all the bands that will be heading down to Austin, Tx for this year’s South by Southwest festival. The representitives from Detroit will include:

ABK, Back in Spades, The Romantics, Zug Izland, The High Strung, The GO, The Paybacks, The Von Bondies, Sponge, Blanche, The Hentchmen, Demolition Doll Rods, 25 Suaves, Whirlwind Heat, Bear Vs Shark, The Singles, The Waxwings, Midwest Product, Dykehouse, Matthew Dear, The Fags.

The new issue of Spin features on article on the Von Bondies written by Metro Times writer Chris Handyside. The article also has an overview of other notable Detroit bands such as Saturday Looks Goods to Me, Pas/Cal and The Finer Things.

In more Detroit rock in print news, Blender covers the Jack/ Jason fight and includes a mention of the MCR along with a cartoon drawing of what allegedly happenend that night.
