Rag Wrap – November 21, 2003

Here is some info on Jack White’s musical contribution to the movie “Cold Mountain

As the MCR crew bummed around town last night we noticed that Detroit Rock City had become Detroit Punk City. Hitting the Lager we saw The Lucky Stiffs kick some major ass. Although we didn’t end up in a Miller Lite spot a good time was had. Then apparently the Garden Bowl has something called Garage Rock Free Thursdays which in turns means old punk.

While I was driving home I flipped on the enchanting Liz Copeland over on WDET and she had Cas and Gene from PasCal in the studio. They played songs off of their forthcoming ep “Oh Honey We’re Ridiculous” and chatted about the band’s song writing and recording process among other topics. The band said they have already begun work on their 3rd EP. You can catch Pascal this Saturday at the Magic Stick as well as at their record release show/ holiday party which will take place December 20th at the Lager House.

The News profiles local artist Jim Pallas who is having an art exhibit next week.

Ms. Melody talks with singer, songwriter, producer, etc Inohs Sivad about her new cd and her upcoming cd release show. which will take place tonight at Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

Thanks to the 3 big newspapers in this town for letting me down this morning.
