Benefit For Bootsey X

You can bet that all of Detroit’s true garage rockers will be at Jacoby’s on Thursday night for a benefit for local underground legend Bootsey X. Bootsey, aka Bobby Beyond, has been a staple of the Detroit rock scene since his early days a drummer for the Ramrods. More recently, he’s known as the infamous frontman of the Lovemasters.

A few weeks back, his apartment was destroyed by a fire. On Thursday at Jacoby’s, the Detroit rock family will show their support for Bootsey with a show including The Fondas, The Shanks, The Cocktail Shake, The Earworms, The Polish Muslims, The Ex-Mutants and Danny & Margaret Dollrod. Metrotimes rock critic Brian Smith will DJ and various bands will donate CDs to be sold for the cause.
